This is what I look like after a day of spring cleaning: exhausted & hangry. Anticipating a rewarding dinner in Ocean Park, we first stopped at an uphill community garden lot and sneaked in a couple photos. Pre-hoodie, my outfit sums up the basic anatomy of my usual attire; anonymous white top, denim cutoffs, and comfy slip on shoes. Post-hoodie gives you a more interesting update. I had just received this denim doodad in the morning from Maximillia Boutique in Australia and was really surprised to see just how structured a hoodie can be. It is made out of Ksubi denim after all... Tough stuff. In detail, the embroidery is nothing short of amazing; reminiscing that of toy kaleidoscope patterns and stained glass windows. Rad, huh?

More sleepytime dressing in LA. This genre of dressing is becoming my uniform very quickly as I realize how this city calls upon the drapiest and easiest pieces of your wardrobe. Spring is in full bloom here and jacaranda petals are littering the ground and tops of cars in such a pretty way. What drew me to this shirt when I first saw it on the Topshop website was the misalignment of stripes between the back and the front. The transition of the light blue to medium blue was also a nice touch. When it arrived in the mail, I was super happy to see that its sleeves came pre-rolled to save me the trouble of finding a nice, neat way to do this. (I've only recently perfected my denim jacket sleeve roll) On top of that, it is possibly the softest shirt I own. Like it was washed with flower petals in the most delicate cycle for maximum softness.

[ Acne Studios 'Azade' blouse, Topshop bandana shorts, Nike Free Run sneakers, Fendi tote ]

On a particularly dusty pink sunset day in Santa Monica after playing tour guide to some good friends from Vancouver. A twisted take on the normal sneakers, shorts, and t-shirt formula by adding this Acne Studios sheer back and knotted silk t-shirt. It's always an instant boost of a staple when your t-shirt is made of silk. Knowing I'd be walking a lot, I was psyched to wear my new customized sneakers from Nike for a good dose of realistic practicality. (Close ups of these comfortable babies soon.) Shorts are quickly amassing in my wardrobe due to LA being such a bare-legged friendly place. These bandana print ones from Topshop are a great addition, plus they add a splash of colour to an otherwise bland & boring black palette. Although I say... bland is the new black.

When I saw this distressed denim mini dress from Olivier's resort 14 collection, I knew I had to have it. So began my quest for it and when finally purchased and tailored, it was just in time to wear it out to the desert in Palm Springs. More specifically, the Whitewater Preserve. The shredded-to-bits neckline and bleached as denim was super obvious to pair with an old pair of Frye cowboy boots. I'm looking forward to pairing it with heels at some point though. These type of slip on & go dresses are my favourite purely for its no brainer ease of dressing in the morning. Makes things go much faster when I have an impatient male companion who takes about 1/3 of the time it takes me to get ready. Boys.
