Ahh the overdose of sequins on this sweater makes me all giddy but not as much as the fact that its colour has been so appropriately named 'mall fountain' by the beauties at Wildfox. I mean you can immediately visualize those tacky aqua coloured tiles making up those mall fountains in the 70's with that familiar iridescent sheen we still see today. (See what I'm talking about here). What Wildfox has done however, is genius. They've taken that same iridescence, subtracted the tackiness, scribbled Katy Perry's girl anthem title on it, cropped it, and added extra long sleeves for a very satisfying statement sweater. Side note: can we all just give thanks for extra long sleeves and their usefulness at keeping my constantly cold hands a little warmer? Do it. Let's not forget that they also add a playful sense of coyness to things.
Ok I'm done with my sleeve rant for now.

quintessentially coachella.

[ Jeremy Scott x Adidas hoodie, Topshop vest, 7 For All Mankind shorts, H&M sandals ]

I remember this moment of Coachella quite well. It was the bittersweet last day of the 3 part series and we were on our way to get (metaphorically) high with Tame Impala. The sandstorm wasn't in full swing just yet but it was definitely windy and cold & I was probably whining about the lack of hot beverages to Stevy when Dan suddenly stopped us to photograph our style. I'm always so flattered & taken aback when this happens but I guess having wings resembling that of a totem pole will just attract that type of attention. Smirk. I was probably on autopilot when packing this hoodie as it's so comfortable & insulating that I didn't realize just how quintessentially Coachella it was until I saw this photo. My only regret is putting my phone in the front pocket... fail.

Thanks again to Dan for the photo & see you in LA! Hope everyone got their tickets for Coachella 2014!

[ Dream Society tank, 7 For All Mankind shorts, Chanel backpack, thrifted belt, Dolce Vita 'Bailey' boots ]

1. a super comfy basic tank (embellishment optional) that's loose enough you can wear a bikini underneath for surprise beach stops
2. your faithful pair of shredded* shorts
3. good stomping boots incase you suddenly hit a different terrain that isn't sand or grass
4. a good backpack with sturdy straps to lug your cameras, sunscreen, seaweed snacks, what have you...
5. any type of locally made, fresh pressed juice. Coconut, lilikoi, pineapple - Hydrate!

*I have a theory that the more shredded one's shorts, or article of clothing are, the more wild they are. So by that logic, I'm pretty tame...

halo tree.

[ Vena Cava 'Sarcophagus' romper ]

How wow is the top photo? And I'm not talking about the factor that was me but rather the factor of the tree. Particularly that of the halo variation?! I know, I don't even understand it myself & I don't think I want to. Things lose their magic when all the mystery is gone & I like magic. Now that you've had a chance to digest the wonder of the halo tree, I'll give words on the outfit. This Vena Cava romper is past past past season and every time I (try to) slim down my closet & I come across this piece, for a smidgen of a second it goes in the outbox folder, and then I come to my senses. That smidgen of a second is because it fits too big on me but the # of goods outweigh the bads on this one. The chevron print, the silky material, THE POCKETS (note the importance due to all caps), the metal tips on the drawstring, and the fact that it's got a good name. Sarcophagus. Product names have a huge influence on my purchasing decisions.

PS I added my Facebook to my already burgeoning socials list!

Wow 50+ photos from my island adventure?! Most of which consist of vibrant flora, Hawaiian selfies, tropical storefronts, things consumed, and a sneaky cinema shot of the visually stimulating Great Gatsby. All bookended with the single beach day I had wearing my Missoni lookalike bikini, my dad's old shirt, and not enough sunscreen.

To do next time: climb Diamond Head, North Shore surfing, hula dancing, more lei flower crowns, and Maui.
