Fellow blogger Elin Kling has been the first person to ever do a collaboration with Guess by Marciano. Debuted in stores today, the collection featured Elin's signature simplistic chic style + Marciano's classic glamour + dashes of chevrons here and there. These are my favourite pieces from the collab to which I've made 3 outfits with on Polyvore. I'm really vying for that one Grecian white dress and that cropped plum sweater. Although I wouldn't say no to that black body forming bustier/tube skirt combo.

After seeing this movie at a late night screening at The Landmark theatre, I wonder if it is possible for anyone to view it and not want to live in a Wes Anderson world thereafter. From the vibrant colours of the ark scene to the piercing green of Tilda's eyes along with each piece of set design/propping/costuming being so accurately on point, my favourite thing about the movie was its awkwardness. The awkward lengths of Suzy's dresses, how nervously tall the tree house was built, and the strangely off but cute way Sam and Suzy finally met after planning their runaway through penned notes.

Quirkiness at its finest.

white.

I'm really feeling white this season. Not just any blah white, rather a glaringly neon white. If there has never been such a term before I am coining it right now. I think my love affair with the colour began after seeing Kristin Reiter's iPhone case cleverly named Snow White and appropriately donned with a mirror screen sheen. It's always nice to be called the fairest of them all. Plus you'll need a mirror to straighten up your Karl collar every now and then. 


With more summer festivals coming up, pack your belongings into Delsey's diamond angled Karat case and make a statement with some Hunter wellies that look like they've been dunked into a can of White Out. Adorn wrists with Givenchy's Obsedia cuff and match the touch of gold with Defy's rabbit skull ring. 


I first fell in lust with Rachel Comey's Ply top at Aritzia Base in Vancouver years ago and was even more stoked when I found out it came in white with all its sheery/cutout goodness. There seems to be a pattern with my Polyvore sets that never seem to address the issue of bottoms. And that obviously didn't change with this one. Creatures of habit I guess. Maybe I'll take a note from My Little Pony and just go all au natural. There's just something about its stark white canvas that I'm living for right now.

[ BREE London 100 wallet ]

Whilst meandering through the Hyatt in Waikiki, I scooped up this beautiful, black, snakeskin grained wallet at BREE. With its supple texture, tetrahedron shape, and liquid silver zipper, the wallet is a definite contender for slipping into Alexander Wang's Objects collection seamlessly. I couldn't justify keeping it for myself so it now resides in LA with Stevy. Purchase the London 100 in a variety of colours at a deeply discounted price than I paid (damnit!) here.

Picked this bad boy up at the Nordstrom Rack in Hawaii. We really need an NR in Vancouver man! Although it's probably best for my wallet that they don't. As soon as I felt the soft, stretchy texture of the bra, I immediately knew it would be a perfect opponent for emulating half a mummy wrap, and half of Leeloo's thermal bandages. Yes. This is just one of the many convoluted reasons behind my garment purchases. 

It comes in a slick pastel green, properly dubbed 'Aloe', here.

Some of the pieces that I'm excited for in the upcoming Marni x H&M collection. Cute ruffled bottom swimsuits, large paillette collars, plus that sick metallic paisley print double whammy outfit. There's also a stripey pastel pyjama set that would be perfect for interpreting that whole Sofia-Coppola-lounging-at-her-dad's-Turtle-Inn vibe. Feel vibe here while waiting for the collection to come out on March 8th.

Curious as to...

1. How creatives come up with the idea of using metal tips one would usually only find on the corners of diner menus - to be used on the tips of collars. Ingenious.

2. How a curiosities shop could make one even more curious. An ancient Chinese herbalist drawer?! I mean... come on. You have to admit that's quite a piece.

3. Why my eyes seem to have a slight downturn in this photo. Maybe both of my eyes are lazy. Even distribution is nice I guess
