Ahh Malibu, how I love you! Having read and heard about Moonshadows Malibu from several different sources, we decided to cozy on down the PCH to the restaurant just in time for the most magical sunset but not before taking a nap by the pier. I was so stoked to do said napping in my new orange crush shorts by lace experts, Lover. I've been yearning for a delicate piece by the Australian duo for years now and was so happy to finally add them to my constantly growing collection of short shorts. Those who wish to do the same, hurry because they're on sale! Paired with an easy, white linen tunic from Zara to keep things extra sleepwear-like. Shoes of choice included espadrilles for comfortable cavorting, then some cross strap pumps for seafood fine dining. Nails kept nude & bling simple.
I'm so psyched that I got to visit the DVF 40 Journey of a Dress exhibit while I'm still in LA! The exhibit was breathtaking with the grandness of it all given that the evolution of Diane's wrap dresses have more or less stayed the same in functionality and practicality yet subtle differences in collar lengths, fabric, pattern, and colour made very powerful distinctions in time. Having 40 years of dresses laid out in diamond sections inside the Wilshire May Co. Building at LACMA with full wraparound wallpaper in the many vivid patterns Diane has used, was a design feat of its own. Not to mention the Barbie pink timeline hallway that led into the pièce de résistance or the crisp white photography hall complete with artworks done by Warhol along with an awesome 3D video by Yi Zhou. What a well executed exhibit; tastefully done and visually stimulating. It's on until April so go discover the journey of a dress at LACMA. Admission is free too!

Peeks of skin in what I can only describe as a cutout bib that somehow mimics a bulletproof vest. Yeah, beats me too. I first saw this top in a Vogue spread with Rooney Mara and although I'm no girl with a dragon tattoo, it definitely emulates a tough chick vibe. Hope everyone is having a great start to 2014 and that by now, your Christmas lights are down unlike these people in West LA. Although... where else would I be able to find a twinkling peace wreath to shoot with?
