Late spring/summer nights call for slinky silk dresses and slouchy cardigans. I've had this dress ever since I discovered Vena Cava through Gossip Girl and it's just such a beautifully simple piece. Paired with my Nanette Lepore cardigan that I've been insisting goes with absolutely everything... A perfect combo for drinks at the Ace Hotel DTLA (cocktail suggestion: Roses in Winter. Not too sweet & comes with edible flower so why not). A nice little surprise to the outfit came in the form of my elven ear cuff by By Boe. I'm always trying to let my inner elf maiden out. West Coast style.

This is how I take an outfit from dressy to casual: double whites. The day started out with a quick trip to brunch & Beverly Hills to pick up some cupcakes at Sprinkles (yum) before heading out to Newport Beach for the day. For this occasion and most other occasions, I grab some cutoffs and a few white threadbare tops in case I need to do some backseat dressing. I have been yearning after these Isabel Marant ss11 baby pink shorts for much too long and I'm happy to say they're finally mine! See close up here. Pairing something the colour of bubblegum is pretty easy when the rest of the palette remains neutral. Enter Zara's side slit LWD and a perfectly scalloped top from Kate Moss' new collab with Topshop. Let the details do the talking. Y'know what I'm sayin'?
