[ BB Dakota 'Irma' jacket, Aritzia tank, my sister's old Guess jeans, mom's vintage Gucci bag, Alexander McQueen creepers ]

A post from a few weeks ago in Vancouver pre-Hong Kong where I wore a puffy cloud complete with sleeves. All of these pieces aren't new to my wardrobe but it's nice to resurface the oldies to let them see the light of day again. Plus the majority of them are basics so those can always be recycled over time. The exception being my mom's lovely Gucci bag that's depicting such apropos flora for springtime. The windy day at Second Beach lent an element of movement in my jacket and hair that I was okay with. Must be what Beyoncé feels like with a constant wind machine.

[ J Brand 'Huston' leather top, Stone Cold Fox 'Fontaine' shorts, Prada clutch ]

An eBay heavy outfit here since both these items seem to be sold out everywhere! I'm still in search for the matching leather shorts to this sublime J Brand tank to create the ultimate nude experience. That sounded a lot more suggestive than I meant it to but I innocently meant the combination of the two would create a killer look. I love that Stone Cold Fox had the brilliant idea of sewing delicate doilies to the sides of something basic & black, making for a surprisingly loveable pair of shorts. Anyway, draped in my everyday go-to jewelry, bathed in sunlight, and leaning awkwardly make for a very nice day in LA.

Another mini photo diary that I'm hoping to make into a monthly thing. Mostly pictured again are samples of food that I have eaten in cool places I've recently tried out in Vancouver. Recommended highly is the Tacofino Commissary on E Hastings with really great deals on tacos along with an amazing guilty pleasure of a dessert: banana churros. Pidgin has tons to try out with an open face kitchen to peer into while you wait. Chomp is my new favourite go-to place with my wanting to try everything on the menu. Wildebeest for strong cocktails & excellent mood lighting. Other than food, head to the (currently) snow free Red Blossom Project down at Spanish Banks and marvel at something lovely and poignant to our rainy city. Snow selfie for those 3 wtf days.

[ Acne Studios 'Azade' top, Alexander Wang croc leather skirt, Dispark Japan slip ons, AdR x H&M sunglasses, mini spike bag from HK ]

Photos by Spencer Varsek

Anonymous art done right is always a lovely thing especially when it's done in a simple yet bold manner. Here in Vancouver a couple of days before the snowstorm hit, unknown artists hung up bright red umbrellas down at Spanish Banks in celebration of our constantly rainy city. I greatly dislike rain but I must admit the concept created a very cute photo spot. Spencer and I bounced around everywhere trying to get clear shots of the installation all the while weaving in and out of joggers' paths. Worn here was my first Acne Studios piece that I recently purchased from fellow Canadians, Jonathan + Olivia! The spinal back detail and sheer panels coupled with the opaque one in front really got me excited. So much so that I'm almost considering version white as well. Remainder of outfit kept neutral with my murky mud coloured Wang skirt and stark white slip ons.

I know we're nearly at the end of February so this random picture post on January might seem moot, but I assure you that the content is still relative! All photos were taken here in Vancouver, consisting of a lot of food and simple things that inspired me in the first month of 2014.
Love month post to follow soon...
