This outfit post comes in 2 parts as I wished to convey how one piece I wear during the day can be transitioned into night! Obviously I'm not the first to do this but thought I'd challenge myself to make a t-shirt wearable for an event in the evening. Anyway so here's my very beautiful, silky A. Wang t-shirt dress that weighs a lot more than it sounds from all that bottom hem studding. Worn to browse the new spring collection at the Phillip Lim boutique on Robertson while I was in LA. Now since I like being comfortable when I go shopping, I usually wear flats; plus flat shoes send out an immediate message of casualness. Denim is always seen as the everyday workwear material, which is why I threw that on to really 'day up' my outfit. Accessories are kept minimal, simple bracelets, slate coloured sunglasses, nude lips, and a low slung messy pony to cap it off. Part II of post coming next!

wrap, embellish & encase.

Thought I'd do a post solely focusing on the pieces that have been wrapping my fingers, embellishing my neck & wrist, and encasing my iPhone: my bling. Nah, I'm saying that sarcastically and would much rather refer to them as what they really are. Although bling is just so much more fun to say than accessories! Anyway, yes. In chronological order for acquisition of pieces, I'd have to say that the Topshop necklace is the oldest one here. Bought while I was studying in the UK & first discovering that such a heaven as Topshop exists. Second from the line here would be my Cavalli bangle, which I believe I bought on sale at Netaporter. Then came the Low Luv ring from the cutest boutique here in Vancouver, Holly Boutique. My other beautiful ring was gifted to me by Stevy for Christmas after he heard me mention Unearthen once. And the latest addition to my accessories drawer is my ridiculously sexy holographic iPhone case by Céline purchased at Holt Renfrew as a birthday gift to myself. I love when everything I'm wearing comes from such a potpourri of places. Fashion stories.

Rhetorical question coming up. How sick is this paillette wall?! I mean, whoa. Anything en masse really makes a statement but this Margiela wall makes two at once. The first obviously being that something as simple as a small paillette can make such an impact when multiplied by 1000. Second, the movement. I dare you to stand in front of the wall & just watch it all move in the wind. It's pretty satisfying. Not only are the masterminds at Margiela able to design such thought provoking & interesting pieces, but they've also created such conceptual stores for each location. I look forward to the times I visit their other ones.

Onto the outfit, I'd say this combo of leggings & a t-shirt has become ubiquitous in society so to keep things more lively, I spruced the outfit up with colour, specifically that of my leather leggings. I bought them solely due to their unique hue, which Aritiza has dubbed 'tyrian purple', and because the material is so soft to the touch. And the wine colour of the leggings really compliments the teal & yellow of the MJ t-shirt though, doesn't it? Although let's be real, anything goes well with a little Michael.

BCBG harness, F21 sweater, Wilfred Free leggings, and BB Dakota 'Irma' jacket ]

Shooting my new dominatrix piece from the geniuses behind BCBG, my multivariate harness. In this case I decided to debut it by wearing it with the buckle fastening at the back but I'm excited to try it out as a faux garter belt next time. There's a lot of buckling & fastening going on left, right, and centre of this piece but its been fun to work with. Wearing it with something as loose fitting as this F21 sweater, the harness really cinches it in and gives it some life & shape. The jacket was a no brainer as its been my goto piece as of late. Threw some colour in the outfit with my wine leather leggings.

In attempts to add more of my rainy city into my blog post backdrops, we shot these at English Bay in Vancouver by the Inukshuk statue. Then we migrated to some empty picnic tables outside Cactus Club until Justin & I realized just how cold we really were.
Please stop being so cold & rainy, Vancouver.

REALLYliteral video.

Just as the title reads. Stevy and I have been experimenting with some video ideas and this was our first project of many.
Amazing editing and execution of video by Stevy Pyne. Mediocre modelling by yours truly. Watch & enjoy!
